The new definition

Law 81/2018, as amended in 2025, clarifies: telework means work carried out outside the employer's premises using technology.

Employer obligations

1. Amended contract or explicit addendum for telework arrangements
2. Cost coverage: equipment, internet, utilities (fully or partially, negotiable)
3. Risk assessment at the employee's chosen location
4. Right to disconnect (EU Directive transposed)
